My experience at the Aveda Salon are mostly positive , my stylist Maggie is great - This last visit was a little rattling when my stylist had to check out because she could only work till 5P, another stylist Sarah finished the process of shampoo & style . I think what would be helpful in the future is if you have a client with long hair or a complicated process have the appointment desk ask a few questions , I should have been given a 915A appointment . Most salons will block an appropriate amount of time for longer procedures. On another note , in general , while I do like coming to the salon , you've got a lot of young girls who, when not with clients, tend to congregate and gossip around your clients , while I understand this is a school they should be taught professional behavior in a salon , not "hanging around" interupting stylist who have a client.

I received a terrible haircut, the worst one ever in my life. I completely understand that Jamie is still a student, but her supervisors failed to give her the guidance she needed. I came in with shoulder length hair and asked for an asymmetrical bob. Instead, my hair was jagged, uneven with random and harsh chunks taken out of the back. I only wanted a few layers in the back so that my hair stacked nicely. Instead, on top of my head and in the back there were random sections with hair only 2-3 inches long. Also a huge chuck of hair was cut out in the back next to my ear. When I saw this in the mirror and pointed it out, Jamie just made some excuse that it was supposed to be that way. That's when I knew she had already given up trying to give me a good cut. It was awful. I feel that the instructors failed to give her an important lesson: how to let a client know that a mistake had been made and give an option for how to fix the mistake with a different cut. Instead, the instructor and the student let me walk out of the salon knowing full well how bad the back of my head looked. I am truly not a fussy person. I am a wash and go kind of girl. But the following day I had to get my hair recut to look presentable for work.

Another problem was Jamie's negativity. She complained about having to listen to Christmas music all day. Then she even randomly shared that when she was 16 she got kicked out of her house by her mother and mother's boyfriend because she got pregnant. Don't need to know this information. Jamie needs to have positive conversations with her clients, especially new clients, and also give much better haircuts if she wants to be successful in this business.

My stylist Amber was was very friendly, gentle with my hair and understood what I wanted with my hair. The stylist Crystal helped with styling my hair after my color and was really nice as well

I love coming to get my hair colored and cut!!! I also love getting the massages there. My next is to get a pedicure...maybe before Christmas! The students are amazing and so are the instructors!!

I had a wonderful experience at Brown Aveda with Mary. I received a micro on my face and left feeling refreshed and beautiful. The process took about an hour and was relaxing. I loved the feeling of the crystals on my face. My skin still looks great a couple days later. Mary was also informative on what products to use and I decided to purchase the Botanical Kinetics exfoliant, I love it so far!
