Having not had health care available for 15-20 years, I can understand the somewhat skeptical approach to my medical history. However, when a patient says they are in a great deal of pain, it should not be ignored. Chronic back pain can keep one from being active, which leads to weight gain, which leads to more pain, which leads to less activity, ...in an endless cycle. Arthritis can also be crippling in it's calcification of joints. These two things have taken a toll on my health, specifically on my lower back, right hip, left knee and ankle joints. When reporting these conditions, I felt very uncomfortable. I had a sense of being on trial and being found guilty. I have added a diagonal ulcer, which flares up without medication, too. I have not felt acceptance from my doctor. I do not whine, I just tell.
