This company does a good job mechanically. Pricewise, it's a different story. I received an email from Convoy Auto Repair this month advertising a check engine light diagnosis for $29.95 (regularly $90.00). Of course, I was charged $109.95 because I apparently did not read the fine print, where my brand of vehicle was not included in this fine offer.
I noted that another person had left a similar comment in the reviews - the response from Convoy Auto Repair was: "Our diagnosis fee is free with repairs done here."
If so, why was I charged at all for the diagnosis fee, as I had the repairs done at this place?
At best, I would categorize this as deceptive marketing; at worst I would just call it plain dishonesty.
Thank you for your comments. I am happy to hear your Volvo is properly repaired and running correctly. I reviewed our monthly advertising offer for the $29.95*Check Engine Light. It does state the following: *Most domestic, Asian and Japanese vehicle and light trucks. Your Volvo and other European manufactures do not apply. Diagnostic and testing time in most incidents is independent of the repair time. We always obtain out clients approval and authorization, which we did with you on any diagnostic charges prior to performing any work
I have spoken with the website developer to see if we can increase the font size and location of our disclaimers moving forward to be sure all clients see and read this.
