They don't go in with a scatter approach and just start hacking at repairs by running up your bill and randomly changing parts.
We love this shop because until they understand EXACTLY what's wrong, they don't give you an estimate.
I recently had a VERY unusual problem with an older vehicle that I absolutely love. I got an estimate from another shop where our frien goes, and they said they would have to do a complete rebuild, it would take two weeks to get all the parts neede.
Then I went to Engine Works, where I should've gone first, They traced the actual problem, took pictures of the issue, explained it to me very simply, and it only took four days - and cost half of what the complete rebuild would've cost.
When I asked whether I should bring it back soon to get the complete rebuild done, they showed me all the good parts that they'd tested, and why a complete rebuild wouldn't have fixed the issue anyway. Engine Works is THE BEST in the Bay Area.
Give them a try and see why they are always busy... Great understanding of technical information, courteous friendly service, and they are honest and give you options that you can understand too.

Thank you for fixing my car. I am going to try to drive it as much as I can. I appreciated your immediate attention. I was surprised that the tybars broke since I had just had the car serviced with you. But I guess that is not something that is looked at when you have a regular service call. Great work. It was my first time coming here but my dad recommended them and they did not disappoint. Eric was very clear with communication and pricing and knowledgeable to my situation. I took my car in because it was making a new noise I could not identify and the team narrowed it down and fixed the issue. Would recommend to anyone!

Engine Works is great. They are fast, efficient and thorough, all with a smile. My catalytic converter shield is now in place, a great relief, and it was all done in an hour or two. Highly recommended!
