I have been seeing Dr. Graff for many years and he is the consummate professional with a dedicated and knowledgeable staff..However, my last visit left a very bad taste in my mouth. Dr. Graff had to do a simple procedure of cutting a small piece of ingrown nail from my big toe, The entire procedure took five minutes with no cutting of underlying tissue. After the procedure, Dr. Graff told, knowing my meager income from social security, told me to put a small amount of neosporin on the toe after bathing (which he said could be done that night).
When Dr. Graff left the room, a young woman entered and said I should put some drops on the affected area from a special solution devised by the doctor and proceeded to give me a syringe filled halfway along with a band aid and some Q-Tips.She then sent me to checkout (no follow up visit needed) where I was told that I would have to pay $10.00 for the packet.
Ten dollars might be a mere bagatelle to the staff at the Graff Foot Center, but it represents three spartan meals for me!Also, I do not think that it is ethical to arrive at this "up-charge" without informing the patient prior to check-out.
I am asking that the Office refund my $10.00 since I had no reason to use the "special solution" and would happily return it unopened.
