My appointment was at 9am when they open. I arrived before the receptionist, the head dentist, and the dental hygienist who worked on me.
I have only been to the dentist a twice before in my life (once for wisdom teeth extraction), so I am not at all familiar with normal dentist visits. All of my previous visits have been with Lovett on Yale, and they have all left me feeling uneasy.
During my most recent visit (and also in both previous visits), nothing that was done to me was explained. No, "okay so we're going to clean your teeth today" or "we're going to do this procedure because of these reasons". I was given a prescription for a fluoride rinse but I have no idea why its needed. A nasty fluoride varnish was applied to my teeth without warning or explanation.
Also, this may be normal, but I've never had the same dental hygienist or doctor work on me. It's always someone different.
I will not be returning to Lovett. They are too corporate and lack an environment in which I can actually develop a relationship with the dentist.
