I want to start off by saying that I have had many great experiences at Luxe, especially with Zinnia. However, yesterday, I saw Kelsey for my haircut and lip/eyebrow wax since Zinnia was not available. Kelsey was very sweet. She did a nice job on my hair. However, my eyebrow waxing experience with her was extremely uncomfortable. I have had my eyebrows waxed many times at Luxe by different people and at other establishments as well. Usually, it hurts for a second and resolves very quickly and then the surrounding skin is red for only about 30 min. Yesterday, after Kelsey waxed my brows, it was stinging/burning constantlyin certain areas. When I looked in the mirror after my wax, I saw sizable abrasions/areas where my skin had been torn off between my eyebrows and under my eyebrows. I feel this kind of dermal injury can only occur with improper technique. I feel if she had held my skin taut while she was waxing my brows, this wouldn't have occurred. I politely asked her why it was burning so much (even though I already knew) and she said it was because I just have sensitive skin and that it is just a little irritated. When she handed me a mirror at the end of my visit, it was clear as day that my skin was torn. I left quite disappointed to say the least.
