I have had a lot of not so great experiences at Midwest Dental. I've had problems with cavities, crowns falling off, a drill bit breaking off in my root and having to go somewhere else to have the root canal finished which cause me about $1000. I've given them the benefit of the doubt because I don't have great teeth and I like some of the staff there. Unfortunately yesterday's visit left me feeling unfulfilled and I think I will look to another dentist for me and my family in the future. I was assigned a hygienist that I had not previously seen and she seemed rougher than normal on my teeth during the cleaning. Her poking and scraping in my mouth left me sore for a few hours and raised concerns to the dentist about my ongoing concern that my crowns become loose way more than I think they should including today when I thought they got loose simply by the hygienists scraping during the cleaning. The new dentist did not seem to interested in talking to me but I gave him the benefit of the doubt as there was a screaming child in the office. He left me hanging when I asked him if I could wait until my next visit to take care of a cavity. He simply walked out and said, "I've seen people wait six months and get a root canal." No "good bye, have a nice day." He simply walked away and my visit was done.

This was by far the worst experience I've had at a dental office I am not new to a dentist I am 47 years old I went in with the impression that this was a simple cavity on the side of a tooth the technician I feel was walked through the procedure by the doctor which alone is uncomfortable the technician also mishandled her surgical instruments and poked me in the cheek not once but twice and this was not a cheek on the inside of my mouth but actually the outside of my mouth again the technician had know idea that she even did this again because the doctors walking her through the procedure

If it's a mini procedure I feel that the patient should be informed of what was to be done. The procedure in my mouth was opened with an instrument I also had some sort of almost like a balloon over the tongue and then over my lip and my lower lip never had this never explained about this very uncomfortable

I had to ask the doctor if I need to come back in and have it relooked at or if I was just done after this appointment he finished with his procedure and got up and walked out which made me feel like a number

I had this procedure done in the morning I was still in a lot of pain I had to call into work not happy

I will have to reevaluate to see if this will be a facility that I ever go back to

Friendly staff. Very welcoming, talks to you every step. Adjusts methods if something not working well. Listens to you as a patient. So far impressed even after one visit.

I did not welcome that I had to have a full mouth xray. Still fuming about that - don't think we should be made to do xrays we we don't want to, and felt intimidated that I was made to do that. And that big mouthpiece that was put in my mouth made a black and blue spot that is still hurting me today. (Two days later)

The hygienist who cleaned my teeth was very caring.
