My visit was canceled by Solaia. This is the 2nd time they have cancelled one of my appointments. I have had good experiences when I see Nicole however due to the frequent cancellations on their part, as soon as my 6 month massage package has been fulfilled, I will not be returning.

I went in for a pedicure and the technician did a great job. Always have great conversation and Amy is so awesome! I love the atmosphere at Solaia. The entire staff is always courteous and nice.

I came in to Solaia with a groupon I purchased for a cut and highlight. It states on the Groupon that additional color, toner or services will have extra charges but I figured all of these things would be optional. As soon as I sit down in the chair, I am forced to sign papers saying that I will pay the mandatory tip and the $27 toner. I was not happy that the very first thing we do when I sit down is argue about extra fees, it just did not start my experience off on the right foot. Like I said, I figured toner would be an optional service since that is what the Groupon said and I felt like the Groupon was misleading. After I finally agreed to pay the additional $27 because I’m not going to get my hair done and not do such an important step like they insisted it is, we get my foils in, washed and get ready for the cut. She literally cut my hair for 5 minutes, straight across the back, then started styling it. I was sure she couldn’t be done with the cut so quickly so I let her finish styling (air drying and scrunching since I have curls, she did not offer to blow dry) then she started taking off my apron and told me to go. I had to ask her if she was going to put layers in and she acted surprised that I wanted them. She graciously combed out the curls again and added some layers but I was shocked I had to ask her for that. If I didn’t speak up that would have been a $10 haircut, certainly not what your salon charges. I will be calling Groupon to discuss your misleading requirement for extra chargers (how should I know toner is not optional? I’ve never been charged that as an added fee before or asked if I want it) and I will be writing some reviews. For a salon in such a nice area as yours, to feel pressured to commit to an extra charge the second I sit down for a relaxing, pampering experience, set the tone for the appointment and put a bad taste in my mouth. I will not be returning or recommending your salon.
