When I dropped, the car off I was required to sign a document saying I would pay to have the problem evaluated. At that point, I specifically asked if that would be applied to the repair cost and was told that it is included in the price. This is the normal process at everywhere that I have ever taken a car except this AAMCO. When the car was evaluated, I was told what should be done and what needed to be done. I declined to have what they described as preventive measures. The final price was fair but the initial evaluation fee was added to the repair cost. I feel that is dishonest and at a minimum price gauging. As I said the repair, cost was fair but on the high said of the normal charged based on an internet search. Lesson learned on my part but I do not have to like it. To many times these facilities, take advantage of the public to make a profit. After this deception how can you trust anything that is said about recommended work on your car? Would have been cheaper to go to a dealer for the repair and I will do that the next time.
Note: I do normal write positive feedback about work or services that is done in a honest way like the Jiffy Lube on Frederick Road in Gaithersburg that looked at my car for free to figure out what was leaking for me. That is customer Service.
