The experience is still in the "discovery phase." There were things that resulted that may or probably not were too serious incomplete faults by the AAMCO people. However, in "fixing" the transmission from its skipping and lunging, they forgot to put back the inspection plate on the bell housing. Also, the support bracket for the exhaust pipe was left off, and while the Manager said they would replace it, it has never been replaced. The owner, (me) has made numerous calls to the Manager (Hector), they have yet to respond with action!.
In retrospect, the charge for the transmission fixing work, about $3,800, was way out of line. The standard rate for a rebuilt transmission with 100,000 mile guarantee was $1,500.00 Of course there would be a charge for installation, but I am having (still) trouble with the jerking of the transmission, though the AAMCO people tell me it is the differential. I will have it checked with a Ford dealer.
