I was five hours away from home, my suv broke down during traveling. I pulled into the first mechanic shop I seen and they could not take me but referred me to A&J. As I was in a panic (traveling by myself with my three kids was not easy in the first place haha) A&J was so amazing to help me to get me back on the road as soon as possible. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. I can not thank them enough for helping me out at a spur of the moment. I highly recommend this company especially the fact the we’re truthful what was wrong and did not throw in some added things that “needed repaired”. Their prices were reasonable for the repairs.

My rating for the service I received is a negative 10. I had a warranty to cover the repairs, however, I was charged more because I was told they were barely making money from doing the job and wasn't getting paid for the labor hours they requested. I called the warranty company & the labor hours were increased, but was still overcharged after being told I wouldn't be since the hours were increased. They also tried to charge an additional $330+ for taxes even though the warranty company is tax exempt. I asked for the car to be put back into the condition in which it arrived so I could have it towed somewhere else because I wasn't paying for the taxes too. The person I was speaking to, CHUCK, yelled at me and said it's too late because they already started working on it and that somebody is going to pay what was charged or he would keep the car & charge me for every day it has been on their lot or sell it. He them hung up on me.

I called the police for assistance since I live over 2 hours from Fredericksburg. The police were told they had no intention of selling it & were still working with the warranty company & should have better news for me in an hour or two. That was a false statement. I was later called and told I was right about the taxes and the bill would be adjusted, but the overcharge for the transmission would still be included. At that point, I just wanted to get my car away from their shop & didn't want to argue anymore.

After being informed it was ready for pickup, I was told I had to pay in cash because Chuck stated he talked to the owners and they told him "they didn't want any problems with any cards or any other form of payments. " I was beyond done because I felt extremely disrespected from the entire experience and was made to feel the request for cash was because of my race and the fact that I'm a woman so they could say & do whatever. Was every customer that day told they could only pay with cash, probably not, most definitely not. I am reporting this to the BBB and any other forum I can.

I am treated like family. I have been a loyal customer for over 15 years. They explained all that was needed and gave me all the prices. If I need a ride home it is provided and she is one of the sweetest ladies I know.

Service was completed as promised. I received a courteous reminder call about picking up vehicle before end of business on Friday since they are not open on Saturdays. Did not have to wait to have vehicle brought to front for me to drive away. Everyone was helpful when asking questions. Excellent experiemce.
