[I originally wrote this the day they came out: July 8, 2015.] A couple of days ago I called several plumbing businesses to decide who to have come out to repair 3 running faucets and one toilet with an overflow issue. When I called A&K Plumbing, the owner (Alan) answered, and he gave me a lot of information about the variables that would affect the overall cost. I had already youtubed do-it-yourself solutions when trying to figure out how to save money and do it myself, and the information he shared matched what I had already learned. Yesterday I called back and spoke with the secretary, Tracy, and scheduled them to come out.
Today two efficient men, Christopher and RJ, came out and they removed the cartridges in the faucets and went to Lowe's and bought the needed parts--some parts they already had in their van--and in little time they were finished with the jobs--2 bathtub faucet cartridge replacements (the old ones were calcified), a kitchen faucet rebuild, and the valve assembly & flapper in the toilet. It cost $145 for 1 hr of labor (because 2 men came) and they neatly (very legibly) listed the parts they had purchased & provided, and the costs, and the parts totaled $124, so the total was a very reasonable $269.00.
[In addition, I have an insinkerator hot water dispenser which leaks & I haven't used in years & which I can't afford to replace right now, but they looked at it and said that I could buy a replacement online and they would only charge the labor to install it, so I will call them for that when I can afford it.]
They were professional and efficient and I was impressed with their expediency and manner. They also did not leave a mess, they cleaned up after the jobs. I told them I would recommend them to all my friends!!!!
