In approximately no time (well, about an hour) he analyzed the wiring between a switch and a plug, rewired the system (including snaking a new wire between the two) to handle an accessory that needed to be plugged in without being turned on/off by the switch. Truly amazing knowledge of not only what wires needed to be connected where, but how to go about doing it.
Did I mention that the plug was behind a built-in bookcase, had been forgotten and not used in years, but somehow he knew it was there.
