Everyone was super nice and helpful, but we left feeling like we'd spent a ton of money without knowing what the next steps really were. All the directions were rather jumbled up in our heads, we couldn't remember WHEN we were supposed to do the saliva tests (as in next day or wait 'till we had the diet going), etc.
I have already emailed and received a response from Dr. Hensel, so I'm sure this will be resolved... but for future patients, it would have helped to have a print out that said something like:
1 - Tonight, just get some rest. You've had a lot to take in and more information will be coming. Tomorrow you will begin learning what your new diet will include, and you'll work on a grocery list so that you can start your new diet soon. We realize it might take a few days to learn what you need to and do your grocery shopping.
2 - Tomorrow morning, you will get an email with account information that will have a lot more about the diet. (I did just receive this a few minutes ago... but it would have been nice last night to realize that this is what I'd be getting. They said something about an online account, but I didn't realize that it was going to have the diet information on it. If they told me, it just got lost in all the other info.)
3 - Take the saliva collection tests on ________. (Still not sure on this)
4 - Call _______ to schedule the blood to be taken for the blood tests. Try to schedule a time within the next ____ days. (Still waiting on this info)
5 - Plan to do your grocery shopping in the next day or two so you can get started.
6 - The goal is to have these things done and be started on your new diet by _____ (Saturday, the end of the week, etc; The next day isn't realistic, but I'm hoping that it'll be realistic to be fully "launched" in a couple of days.)
I don't know if the above list is accurate... but something like the above is what we found ourselves wishing we had received printed out last night by the time we had spent so much money.
