I had an oil change with service package/ inspection 12/29/21 1998 GMC Safari van.
In the service inspection the Albany Automotive mechanic found my front and rear brakes are at 0, completely worn. Also, the rear brake drums had been overheated and are cracked, need replacement. Estimate for the total service & repair, $1037.68
As a previous brake fluid replacemt job at your shop, 2 month earlier had revealed none of this, I was skeptical of the accuracy?
Another brake inspection at a different shop yesterday revealed none of the findings are correct: Front brakes are at 65% worn and rear brake shoes still good, rear brake drum not cracked and fine. Earliest need for brake pad service: April/May this year.
I wounder how your shop explains the difference in brake inspections findings? I suspect your mechanic didn't even take off the tires/wheels to inspect the brakes and just wrote up a total brake service job.
I had made an appointment at your shop for the brake replacement job for tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 4 at 11am.
Needless to say, I am cancelling this appointment.
I would appreciate a response to my review. Thanks
