Normally, I prefer to get mani/pedis at the $25 places on Main St because if they don't last, I don't feel as though I wasted a lot of money. When I saw the Groupon for Alchemie, I thought the price was reasonable so I decided to give it a whirl.
Unfortunately, I was really disappointed. The salon was running almost 30min behind and the service wasn't great. Megan was very stand-offish and she didn't paint the top of the nails (horizontally) to prevent them from chipping. The next day, it looked so bad that I asked to go back and have a polish change. They agreed and Amy (I think was her name) did an amazing job! So good in fact that I didn't have to touch them up until day 5 and I was able to extend the mani for almost a week (total) which is unheard of for me. I would like to see Amy again but I just felt so uncomfortable with the whole experience that I doubt I'll go back to Alchemie for any more services.
I've had two great facials but bad service at the front desk and one mini chair massage that was kind of painful. I live nearby so I really wanted to love the place when it first opened but have just felt under-whelmed and disappointed every visit.
