Dr. Rosenberg is one of the most thoughtful, patient and caring physicians I've ever encountered. I have every confidence that he makes solid clinical judgements based on a thorough review of the case. Five stars.

I specifically sought the consult of Dr. Wei-Chung Chen, a gastro-enterologist with the above practice group. This is the first time I have sought medical care with this group presently known as inSite Digestive health, which, in researching this group I found the name Alliance etc. but doctors appear to practice under the inSite umbrella. They also apparently absorbed older records of patients who had sought gastroenterology care from the group known as Southern California Gastroenterology associates. As such when I made my appointment I was asked why I was seeking a new physician instead of Dr, X. My last appointment was 10 years ago! I was surprised and felt somewhat put on the spot being asked a question about a physician who did not appear to be part of the present group.

So, if you are not used to the ultimate in bureaucracy , be prepared. I easily obtained an appointment , and was suffering for 4 weeks with gastrointestinal symptoms so needed an immediate appointment and sought an appointment with Dr, Chen. I can say that the woman taking the call was both professional in demeanor, spoke clearly, was helpful in finding a convenient appointment time and other than asking me about my previous gastroenterologist , was in all ways competent and easy to deal with and seemed to comprehend the urgency of my care and thus she inspired confidence in this practice.

When I arrived I was handed multiple forms to fill out, as large as the ones I had to fill out when I was seeking Social Security Disability benefits and the forms proved for me to be somewhat redundant and had i not brought a digest of my medical records would have been difficult to fill out. Because of neurological issues, forms are difficult to fill out and when I asked if I could fill them out after my appointment the person at the desk said no I had to fill them out before I saw the doctor. I said I was concerned I would miss my appointment. So this person said I wouldn’t, so I plodded on. The impediments to speed were the following: I have a pronounced tremor in my hands, I am unable to bend because of auto immune damage to my joints and multiple hip surgeries, I use a cane, had a coat on , and carried a backpack from which I was extracting my records and thus juggling some 20 plus pages of forms and records, and was juggling my own medical records which I was going to present to the doctor, There was no adjacent table, various items I placed on an adjacent chair so I could refer to them while I filled out the ubiquitous forms, kept falling off on to the floor from which I attempted to pick them up entailing considerable pain and strain on hip and back joints and in any even is a slow process. I was never offered help or reprieve, or a small table or anything which would have made this easier. Having been deemed eligible for Social Security Disability Benefits in 2009 and having been granted them, until I become eligible for full benefits under Social Security when I reached eligibility for such , assure you my difficulties are not a matter of debate.

I was ultimately called into an examining room and Dr, Chen , entered the room a short time after. I liked him. He was quiet, intellectually able, well trained and knowledgeable. As a lifetime researcher and published historian, I have Respect for facts and data and that’s what I got. He diagnosed the problem , but he also was conservative in that he ordered appropriate tests to ascertain if there could be another cause. And he facilitated my obtaining a Covid PCR test to rule out active Covid even though I’m vaccinated and boosted, which was also the appropriate action to take given the infectious nature of the Omicron variant.

I registered for the patient portal and Dr. Chen has already filed his report a detailed summary of my visit. I would be happy to recommend Dr. Chen, as he was able to address a problem which left me home bound for almost a month, and identify its cause, reassuring me that it was self limiting and would resolve. He sent a prescription to my pharmacy so I had effective meds to allow me to have a normal life until the symptoms resolved.

I have confidence in his skills and like that he was focused on the medical problem not trying to be sociable. He also answered my questions and was the first person in the practice to recognize I might need some assistance in this case on and off the examining table and also helped me gather my things and handed me my cane , to assure my safety.

In sum, I can tolerate the bureaucratic nonsense associated with a corporate practice, if I can get the care I got from Dr. Chen, by far one of very few positive medical experiences I’ve had since moving to CA 11 years ago which up til now I can rate as piss poor to negligent. So Thank you Dr. Chen!

I do not authorize publication of this review,as I’m filing it so it can be shared with the practice owners as well as the specific physician , Dr. Chen.please allow this review to be placed in my patient portal
