The psr who runs the reception area who took my intake she was great. After Intake another rep. did a short test checking my intraocular pressure.. During that time she informed me I had a copay. Which I found quite strange, Because I currently have an HMO which doesn’t have a copay.

She informed me the co pay fee was for an contact lens consultation. I informed her I’ve been wearing contacts for over 25 yrs I currently didn’t need an consultation.

She explained since I’m a new client with the office it was required, I wanted to check with my insurance carrier first because I had contacted them prior to my appointment and was informed all services were paid through them. I definitely didn’t wanna to pay $69.99 for information I already knew.

So I informed her I would return at a later date.

So I declined the consultation, The rep. stated they would hold my prescription and my free contact lens trial pair until I paid for the consultation.

After that I was confused so I step out and called my insurance carrier and was informed I didn’t have a copay and all services were covered accept for my eye glasses and contacts.

After that I felt lied too so I informed my insurance company I wasn’t going to go forward with seeing the doctor and left. I didn’t understand, why say stated I had a copay when there wasn’t one.

I rather her say we charge a fee outside of the insurance for in contact consultation. So I really didn’t get a chance to experience anything with the doctor.

This was my first eye exam since when they did them in school. The staff was friendly and fast. The exam was painless. Turns out I needed glasses and the staff was helpful on picking out a frame.

Everyone was professional, helpful and nice. The exam was very thorough but was quick. The whole appointment from the exam to picking frames to getting measurements was about an hour.
