ACAR is a family owned and operated, AAA approved auto repair facility: the only independent shop in Augusta to have that honor. Our ASE certified technicians perform all levels of repair, from simple bulb replacement, state inspections, brakes, steering, suspension, tires and exhaust. To more complicated computer diagnostics on the emissions system, engine, transmissions etc. All of our technicians are required to be AAA approved, ASE certified and hold a valid Maine State Inspection License. We maintain a comprehensive assortment of factory and aftermarket computer diagnostic tools; so that we are able to keep ahead of the ever changing automotive repair business.

I was scheduled for an oil change but switched it to my 90,000 factory check up after receiving an e-reminder that the car was due. I really like the fact that service notices and reminders are computer based. The service was completed in four hours. I received a ride to and from my place of work to retrieve my vehicle. It could not be more convenient. It seems to me that the cost of service is on the high side but you get what you pay for. At least when I have my car serviced here, I know that the work is well done and my car is being well taken care of which, to me, makes the ride more reliable. That's important to me because I travel in my job.
