I was "blown away" by the smiling, welcoming staff upon arrival at my first-ever appointment at Altoona Smiles. The professionalism exuded by each staff member, including Dr. Nicole herself, was very much appreciated. I was immediately put at ease and appreciated the care and thoroughness in discussing my dental recommendations.

I must also mention the exemplary customer service of Nishelle Bellinger. She went "above and beyond" in her effort to sort out my convoluted insurance situation. She was personable, professional, and enthusiastic.

I give Altoona Smiles an "A+" and would recommend them to any person seeking honest, friendly, and expert dental care.

As usual, excellent experience - and this coming from a person that does NOT like to go to the dentist. The dental hygienists always put the patient first, asking if everything is ok and if I am comfortable. Always pleasant and upbeat. Eric was his usual thorough, professional self and fun to chat with. And the fun front desk staff is always appreciated!

I have never in my life dealt with such an unprofessional office. We were overcharged several times and even after having the insurance company call the office and verify we were covered 100% for a procedure they went ahead and charged us. When we attempted to discuss it with them they put my wife on hold and eventually disconnected. At this point we felt the dentist should be made aware of the problems we were having. My wife called him and told him everything that had gone on (there were other things that I will not get into) and he said he would look into it and get back to her. He never did. I eventually talked to another person in the office who said the claim had not been filed (it had been 5 weeks since the procedure), they would do it right then and we would receive a check "next week". A week later, no check. I called back and was told they would not return our money since we aren't coming there anymore and they want to make sure we don't owe them anything. At this point it makes me wonder if I didn't know our insurance coverage would they have refunded our money or just kept it (double dipping)? It seems as if there is something going on or the billing dept is grossly inept, either way it's poor business.

I have no complaint about the actual work that was done and feel sad to have to change dentists, but the stress of knowing each time you go in you will have to argue with them over payment because they can't seem to understand our coverage isn't worth it.

I always have a pleasant experience when I go into the office. This is the 1st dentist I have returned to. Michelle in the billing office us amazing. She is always willing to go the extra mile for me to ensure my insurance covers my visits. Also the lady that takes I check in with (amber I think) is always wonderful. Dr Brummel is awesome and goes over things very well. I can't remember the names of all the dental assistants by the have all been nice as well.

April was very friendly, thorough, gentle with instruments, and explained new.procedures well.

Dr.Forster was helpful and friendly as usual.

Front end staff was very professional, informative, yet polite and fun to work with.

Over all a great team to work with.

Keep up the good work!
