Well - here it is summer time in Texas again - hot as you know what! Of course my upstairs A/C stops cooling so I call AMC Services, Inc. - who we use anytime we have issues and for our standing winter/summer maintenance checkups. The technician comes out (real nice guy - I feel comfortable he is in my home - it's all good!) and determines the lines need to be blown out and sure enough - we are cooling again (at a cost of course).
2 WEEKS LATER the same until starts doing the same thing. Same technician comes out again and determines it is the same problem - but the lines need more than just "blown out" they need to deep clean the pea trap to correct the problem. This work typically costs more than just blowing out the line because they have to get under the sink the line is tied to and do extra work. Understandable - now one would think that since they were here the first time at a cost they would have done the thorough clean out and charged the higher fee that first time. Not have to make 2 trips and essentially charge me twice for the same work - right?
The technician does his job and handles the business he is responsible to handle. He does the work collects the payment for the work completed. Very nice guy - I know he is just doing his job. I am a little miffed though - because I feel like I paid for the same service twice and it cost even more the second time.
Here is where it gets good - the owner Rob feels the same way. Since we pay for maintenance in winter and summer - ( which cost about the same as the first charge/visit for the technician to come ) he took that and just covered our next winter and summer maintenance visits. WHO DOES THAT ANYMORE??? There are a lot of companies that would have just said sorry about your luck and moved on to the next service call in this Texas heat.
AMC Services could have just charged me for both of those visits BUT THEY DIDN'T. They made it right and for that I feel very GRATEFUL. I appreciate when a company is honest and has great customer service. They already had won my business based on previous services - but this just further drives our loyalty.
Too often we are quick to complain when we have been wronged and point out the negative - It's so easy to complain....We need to be just as vocal when things are done right. Thank you Rob and AMC Services - Excellent - 5 stars in my book!!!
