I brought my dog in as a new patient for a possible ear infection. The doctor looked at it, swabbed it with a cotton swab and said he didn't have an ear infection but they were inflamed. She asked if I wanted them to clip his nails and of course I said yes because he did need it. The doctor sent us home with some ear drops and we went to the counter to get checked out which took a while. The total was $142. $45 for the exam, $14 for nail clipping, $29 to swab his hear and test it for yeast (i never got the results), and $54 for ear drops that are sold at petsmart for $19.95. OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!! I came here because of the good reviews saying there aren't hidden costs and the reviews were obviously wrong because she didn't discuss the extra costs with me. I didn't realize it was $30 to stick a cotton swab in his ear and test it. She just did it and I assumed it was part of the exam. I'm disappointed. I think she should of offered an alternative which would be to go to petsmart and get the same drops for $20 rather than the $54 that I paid. Unbelievable! As a single parent, I can't even afford $142 a week for groceries so obviously this stung quite a bit!
