We have been going to Doctor Gibson since October 2017 when we got our first puppy after 9 sad years of being pup-less. Getting a pup was an extremely emotional decision for my family. Our last dog lived nearly 18 years, and it was due to giving her the best veterinary care available. I feel that our new girl is now receiving that same quality of care by Doctor Gibson and her staff. Though Doctor Gibson is always very busy, she takes the time to squeeze us in, even if Gilda has to stay all day and be examined in between appointments. Doctor Gibson always pops out of the office on these days, at drop off, and touches base, gives guidance, and seems to not mind that I am always "a mess" with this young pup. The exam is always followed by a thorough phone call before pick up. When we got our girl, Gilda, we compared medical plans and found that the big chain stores offer a plan slightly less than Doctor Gibson's, however the staff was not in anyway as nurturing as Doctor Gibson's. In fact, we went to a free first exam, just to see if saving some money was worth it at the big chain and the tech slammed the thermometer in our girl's rectum. As a result, the pup nipped my youngest son, who was holding the dog. The tech gave no warning. That would never happen at Doctor Gibson's. Kendall always approaches Gilda with a playful moment or two. Calms her, and then does what he needs to do. He seems genuinely concerned, and like Doctor Gibson he is listening 100 percent to any and all concerns. Obviously a big chain store is going to undercut a private practice, but as in all things, you get what you paid for! As the length of this review shows, I have a lot to say! I think what I appreciate most is Kendall's ability to really put up with all my questions, and not brush me off. Which could never happen at a big chain. He also tells me how Gilda's stay went. How she reacted, and how they handled her emotional state. Its like dropping a child off at daycare and being assured that she was in good care. Its evident Kendall really loves the animals he cares for! Regarding Doctor Gibson's medical plan, its been such an asset to us. Our girl has gone a lot over the past 6 months, and its been well worth it! The new administrative assistant Kayla is already proving to be a valuable asset to Animal Medical Service's Team. She listened, as well, to my concerns, both on the phone and in person. She offered an understanding that could not be met by a chain store. I appreciate the quality of care my girl receives!
