Really liked my hygienist and felt she listened to my concerns and did a great job of cleaning in a timely manner. Unfortunately I found out I have several cavaties when the dentist came in. I found him to be very abrupt with me when delivering the bad news. He immediately started interrogating me about my diet, trying to discover the reason behind the cavities. When I told him I only drink water and never eat in the night, I could tell he thought I was lying. I had absolutely nothing to gain from lying and would’ve appreciated an attempt to actually discover the real reason the cavities may have appeared instead of relentless questions about my diet. Couldn’t he consider reasons outside of that after it was clear diet is not the problem? I didn’t even have a chance to say that I have gaps between some of my molars that remained after my braces were removed and that could be the source of the problem. Now I need to get these fillings done and am having a hard time feeling comfortable letting this dentist do the fillings after such a negative interaction. I recognize that bad news is hard to receive no matter what, but I would’ve appreciated a little more courtesy and understanding from the dentist.
