I am very disappointed in the care and treatment I received from Dr. Ashraf. I sought care from Dr. Ashraf for removal of my silicone breast implants. She expressed confidence in removing the implants and performing a lift all in one surgery. The day of surgery Dr. Ashraf appeared harried, spending very little time with my husband and me. After my comments to the OR nurse, the nurse said she had an especially full schedule that day. The results of that surgery were mixed at best. One breast appears normal and the other is misshapen, both breast and nipple, and out of alignment with the other. At the time of follow-up, Dr. Ashraft was reassuring that this was not unusual and that it could be easily fixed in an office procedure but that I would need to wait at least six months. I did not return in six months because my husband and I bought a new house and were in the process of renovating and moving. Then Covid hit and I delayed my revision longer. Upon returning to see Dr. Ashraf for a consultation prior to the procedure, I agreed to allow a medical student to accompany her. It was obvious from her first question that Dr. Ashraf had not reviewed my chart prior to coming into the exam room with the student. After examining my breasts, she said I would need to undergo another surgical procedure at Northside with anesthesia in order to get the results I would be happy with, not the simple in-office procedure she had initially described. In her explanation to the medical student, she blamed excessive scar tissue as the reason for the poor outcome. Again, as the day of my surgery, she was rushed, appearing anxious to be done with the visit and move on. I asked her to be specific about what she was planning to do surgically and her response was quick and vague. I've opted not to go forward with the revision. Not only do I have a lack of confidence in Dr. Ashraf's abilities, I feel an utter lack of care or concern on her part.
