Performance Rehabilitation of Western New England, PC was founded in 2001 by three local therapists, Terry Ditmar, PT, CSCS, Jim Biron, PT, CVT & MaryLynn Jacobs, MS OTR/L, CHT. All three worked the majority of their professional lives in the greater Springfield area where they developed deep-rooted relationships within the medical community. With decades of first-hand clinical and operations experience, they set out to open their first center in West Springfield MA. Their vision was to have a center that offered clients an incomparable experience with exceptional care.
The first center was a small basement level office, which housed physical therapy, hand & elbow therapy and balance & vestibular rehabilitation, as well as the billing office and reception staff. In 2003, the company expanded the hand therapy program to 300 Birnie Ave in Springfield, MA. We continued to grow in 2005, establishing a comprehensive rehabilitation facility in East Longmeadow, MA. The original Elm Street office was moved to a more central and larger space on Myron Street in West Springfield. With this move an additional buildout occurred to accommodate hand therapy, vestibular care, and dedicated space for a fitness center. In 2009, further expansion included Wilbraham, MA, followed by Belchertown, MA in 2010.
In early 2011 the company's name was changed to Attain Therapy + Fitness to more thoroughly describe the expansion of services and continuum of care offered. Later that year, Attain purchased and moved into a neighboring building in East Longmeadow, large enough to accommodate the corporate offices as well as the therapy and fitness/wellness practices.
The comprehensive therapy services and the fitness programs differentiate Attain from the competition. They are locally owned, locally operated, community based and extraordinary confident in all service and care that is delivered.
