Auto Care on Eldridge replied:

We do not accept customer diagnostics when performing auto repair work, as we are then unable to warranty or guarantee the work performed. We do not accept customer diagnostics, and we do not accept free Autozone diagnostics, as these are simply a printout of codes with no further research done.

I highly doubt that you were charged $900 for a heater control valve job, unless there was intensive labor involved. What people fail to realize is that any shop or business of any kind is in business to turn a profit, and as such, judging what your repair bill should be based on the retail price of a single part is folly. You pay or the service of the technicians expertise and his time and labor performing the repairs, otherwise, you are welcome to perform the repair yourself, since you felt confident enough to self-diagnose your problem in the first place.

We have also been in business for over 20 years, family owned and operated, and take offense to the accusations you have made and the slanderous usage of the word "rip-off shop" to describe us.

If you would like to discuss this more, please email us and we would be happy to look further into this once we have more information.
