A few weeks ago, my Prius brake actuator assembly was failing and I needed a shop to replace it fast. Instead of having a local Toyota dealer perform the job, I decided to give Auto Evaluators a shot, due to their positive Google reviews and recommendations from PriusChat.com.
The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, provided competitive pricing, received my repair deposit, and started the job. After waiting a week for my car to be ready, I make it back to the shop and see the infamous red triangle warning light on my dash right after picking up my keys and starting the car at the shop.
I let the staff know about the issue and they ran a quick diagnostic scan, predicted a possible hybrid battery issue, cleared codes/dash lights, and told me to contact them if the light comes on again.
I leave the shop to go to the grocery store 2 minutes away and soon spot the red triangle warning light on my dash again. I bring my car back to the shop and the staff recommends I leave it overnight for a thorough diagnostic scan to determine exact issues.
The next day, I receive a phone call from the shop about a hybrid battery cell not holding proper voltage to turn the warning light off.
Up until visiting Auto Evaluators, I never had any issues with my hybrid battery, so it was devastating to learn that I would have to deal with a second unforeseen repair to get my car back on the road.
Although the staff offered a small discount to fix the battery cell issue, I declined all future service, got my entire hybrid battery fixed, and now I'm back on the road. Despite Auto Evaluator's customer service and courtesy, it will be extremely hard for me to bring my Prius back here. I wish the shop continued success and better experiences for future first-time customers.
