I have had hair services many times at the Aveda Institute in Columbus. It does take time as students are learning. But, that also means you get attention.
I'm surprised with the negative reviews, really. I think they are affordable and usually have an early bird special or coupons sent to you email. You always get a scalp massage and neck massage and are offered a mini facial as the wash your hair. Plan to spend time. It's not Great Clips which is a "get 'em in get 'em out as fast as you can" place. Just bring a picture , be clear in what you want and make sure the instructor knows what you want and is clear to the student. The instruct will correct or finish up the cut professionally towards the end.
From what I understand, they will touch up your make up before you leave. And if students have time, they can experiment and learn by giving a manicure if they have down time,
Just call, ask questions and enjoy the essence of products they use and offer. I'm going today and will)l review after.
I know they moved to bethel Rd. Maybe the experience will be different. I will let y'all know!
