Rude receptionist. I asked a question regarding my appointment for the next visit and was given a very curt and sarcastic reply. It even made the other person at the desk uncomfortable. The student did an excellent job and her instructor was very attentive and helpful. Come on Aveda Institute, your front desk staff is the first impression of your company.

Totally love Aveda spa ans I will be back. I've been going to the Aveda school since it opened. Tbis weekend, the scent upon entering, was not pleasing as normal. Smelled like a salon breakroom during lunch mixed with breath. Loved the facial. Esthetician definitely needed a breath mint. Maybe emphasizing personal hygiene prior to client connection, would be best. Encourage students to pop a mint before service, especially being so close during a facial. Not cool to have to hold your breath during a facial.

Have been going here for over a decade - the students are always fantastic and the educators are helpful. It does take slightly longer than a service in a regular salon but it’s worth it to me.

Student who did my hair was excellent. The shampoo leaves me soaked, each and every time, regardless of who is doing the shampoo. I've been told it's the shampoo bowls. If that's not the case, further training is required for all students.

I've been getting my hair color done for years at Aveda Institute. I've been very happy with 90% of the students that have practiced on me. But I've noticed in the last year, the quality and knowledge of the students have really deteriorated. They are now teaching them to start applying color for greys, starting at the back of the head. WHY? In my case, my greys are all in the front. They should start in the front so that the solution can sit longer when they apply the color to the rest of my head. I had asked an educator earlier in the year about this, and she agreed that if the customer has greys dominantly at the front of the head, that the student should start at the front. However, I've been back 3 more times since then, and they are STILL not teaching their students to look at the client's hair first and then decide whether to start from the back or the front.

And they are STILL no good at washing hair. This student is about to graduate and she still missed washing off the color from most of my head.

She also missed applying color to portions of my hair. I requested that she re-do the color. It wasted another hour of my time.

I understand that they are students. This is how they learn. But this girl is about to graduate! She is NOT ready.

My only complaint was the graduation announcement. I was in timed parking and that did distract allot of people.
