Dr. David Epstein and Dr. Nikita Vakil

5 stars 3 reviews

David Epstein, DDS, is a native of The Woodlands and a graduate of the John Cooper School. After receiving his BS in neuroscience from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Epstein spent a few days at Woodlands Dental Group observing Dr. David Ryder while he was deciding how to proceed with graduate school. Seeing the day-to-day experiences of a dentist inspired Dr. Epstein to study dentistry at the State University of New York in Buffalo, taking the first step on a path that eventually led him back to his beloved home in the Woodlands. As a dental student, Dr. Epstein spent time volunteering in areas where a lack of access to dental care was a major problem, including Appalachia and The Dominican Republic. This volunteer work showed him how acutely poor dental health can impact a person's overall quality of life and clarified the emotional and spiritual rewards of dental practice. So profound was his volunteering experience that he continues the practice every Friday at the Interfaith Community Clinic, an organization dedicated to improving the wellbeing of our community by providing healthcare services to qualified, uninsured individuals in need. Dr. Epstein is honored to be part of the practice that inspired his love for dentistry and helping his hometown friends and neighbors keep their smiles in great shape for a lifetime of health.
