The girl did a good job but II do see a hint of purple in my roots. Will that go away?

Sloppy haircut, overpriced, stylist did not do what I wanted. I repeatedly asked before and during the haircut for my hair to be able to go behind my ears as I did not want side burns. The hairdresser assured me multiple times it would go behind the ears. NOT THE CASE!! I I ended up with what appear to be fish gills sticking out from under my ears because hair was not long enough to go behind the ears. All the hairdresser had to say was she was focused on cutting the back of the head and did not care.
