I have always taken my Cayenne to the dealership on the Pennisula which was never convenient, always expensive and rather impersonal. On a fluke I found AVR and Mike who took my disabled vehicle in right away, kept me updated on issues, progress and estimates and had it back in a timely manner. I'm ecstatic to have such a great service shop in the City.

My review is a month late because I was traveling abroad soon after the work on my VW bug was completed. I appreciated that the job was handled quickly and efficiently so that I had the car before leaving on my trip. Since my return, the car performs well ... a good indication that the problem was addressed and fixed.

We have no qualms about using an independent garage, that is operated in such an excellent manner, and is kept as clean.

From Mike at the front desk to the mechanics upstairs, this place is friendly and absolutely first rate. Unlike every other mechanic I've visited, AVR gives your vehicle a thorough inspection with attention to detail and safety. There is NO PRESSURE to do everything at once but if you do, you can be sure it will be done well. Every other mechanic I've been to in SF leaves me driving away wondering - in fact doubting - the mechanic's intelligence and commitment to excellence. Twice I've left a garage in SF (which shall remain nameless) and been towed back to it! I can't imagine this would happen at AVR. When they do something it's done right! They also maintained my 1968 Porsche for years. Same great quality and service. I highly recommend them!
