I recently boarded my cat for 4 days at their facility. We have been a customer of Bartels for the past 22+ years. This time, when I went to pick up Molly, the look in her eye was frightening. She looked traumatized. When I got home and let her out of the carrier, she was dirty, wet and smelled horribly. I called Bartels and they told me that she probably spent most of her time in her litter pan. My cat is fastidious and I cannot believe that she would have done that. I did a quick wash of her paws and tail to get the matted fur and dirt off, but I will give her a full bath today.. My questions are why didn't they tell me of her condition when I picked her up? Why was her chest completely soaking wet? What happened that she was so traumatized? We have boarded her before but have never never had her return in this condition.
I give this experience 1 star because at least she came back alive.
