Had a bad experience as a child with the dentist that I have never fully overcome. After spending 10 minutes with Dr. Holder and his staff, I was more relaxed and comfortable than I have ever been. I had 2 teeth pulled and had absolutely no discomfort after numbing wore off. Have another visit to schedule and for the 1st time in my life, no fear or trepidation in making that appointment. Dr. Timothy Planty I was born and raised in Syracuse, New York where I graduated high school in 1968 and attended college where I played baseball. I was drafted into the US Army on December 4th, 1970 and completed my basic training at Fort Dix, New Jersey in February 1971. I was assigned to Fitzsimons Army Hospital in Denver, Colorado where I completed my specialist training in July 1971 as an optician and optometric technician. I completed my active duty assigned to the eye clinic at Fort Jackson, South Carolina in September of 1972. It was here that I had the opportunity to work with five optometrists from the University of Houston's College of Optometry, who encouraged me to pursue a career in optometry after my tour of duty.
