Four times they came out. I bought a new thermostat but it turned out that it was just a faulty switch. I bought the switch and when they were there for routine cleaning and maintenance they instlalled the switch and charges me $100.00

My call for emergency visit has been accepted but technician did not shown up on time.

I had to call second time to find out that my first call was not properly recorded or

scheduled. The technician arrived shortly after my second call. He was very skilled to troubleshoot the unusual failure and fix our furnace same day.

Overall it was a positive experience. I am grateful for their good job.

We appreciated the quicker response after we said it was urgent that we get some heat before pipes froze. (A pipe froze and broke anyway, but it would have been worse.)

My gas fireplace insert is admittedly old, installed in 1999. Your firm sent 2 techs to troublshoot and diagnose the failure of the pilot light to stay lit. Both were very polite and professional, however the first tech was not able to diagnose the issue and arranged for the second tech to review it.

He arrived on Friday and determined the issue was with the gas valve (I agree with the diagnosis although I have no training in this area). He attempted to locate a replacement valve through your office. While he was still at my home, I searched online and located the exact valve at Mountain View Hearth Products. Your tech looked at the product and agreed it was the correct part.

On Monday your office called and informed me the valve is obsolete and could not be found. I now have the valve in hand and it is indeed the correct part. I will now install myself and save the $ that your company could have earned with a bit more effort. You are all very nice folks but I am afraid it will be difficult to recommend you to others.

The installers came out and did exactly what the consultant and I talked about. I was very impressed with the quality of the install. Would recommend them to family and friends. Good job!

I purchased a new furnace from Bel-Red on 11-17-11. Being a snowbird, I was not in the home most of the winter months so was not totally aware of how poorly it was heating until I returned in the spring. When they came to do the annual inspection I told them I did not think it was putting out enough heat. They assured it was working to capacity. This was the same answer I got in 2013 and 2014. So in November of 2014 I called them back for a second inspection as it was literally blowing cold air. When the technician showed up it took him less than 10 minutes to tell me he knew exactly what the problem was. They had only connected one of the three heating strips. After his repair everything functioned as it should. In the spring of 2015 when I returned home and saw the difference in electricity consumption compared to the prior year with only 1-2 degrees difference in temperature, I called Bel-Red to advise I felt they owed me some compensation for their screw up. I had to haggle with them for over 2 months and all they would do was refund the money I paid them for the annual check ups. I told them I felt they owed me at least a percentage of my winter bills as I was not there so other than a refrigerator it was mostly for heating. They would not even consider it so unless I want to take them to court it's all I will get.

We set an appointment for a diagnostic to get our furnace running again. The technician found the problem and replaced a capacitor. While there he convinced my wife that the gas piping was out of code. It was not. It is only not compliant with new construction code. He charged $200 to replace with flex hose (about a $10 dollar item I would think). He was asked to clean the furnace while there and we were charged $400 to "clean the blower wheel". That took about 45 minutes. Wow that's over $400 an hour!!!

Our technician was out at the home for over 4 hours. During that time he repaired the non-working furnace so that it was completely operational and running at full capacity. Our technician also recommended having the blower wheel cleaned because of the wear and tear that it was causing on the blower system. Our technician also recommended updating the gas flex line up to current standard. Mrs. G. agreed that the prices were fair and agreed to have the services performed. After we received your first email we agreed that you did not require having your system brought up to the most updated model of gas flex line and refunded the amount back to you, and you are keeping the update on your system. After we refunded that amount to you we received a 2nd email from you requesting additional discounts of having the blower wheel cleaning reduced and that if we did that it would ?re-establish trust a little and encourage us to consider Bel Red again for service?. This review is not justified in any manner. The cost of the services provided, including cleaning the blower wheel is reasonable due to the measure of work involved. A full blower wheel cleaning includes removing the wheel from the system, full deep cleaning outside, and re-installing it back into the system.
