I have been coming to the studio for a couple of years now, although I hadn't been to there since mid June. I am usually out with the sun and in with the rain. I picked Nicole's Thursday night class as it is one of my favorites.
The atmosphere in the studio seems to have changed. The familiar faces weren't there. Instead I was met by groupon strangers. People who are just there for the discounts and off to the next place. They don't seem to care or respect the values we have grown accustom to at Hot Yoga Renton. They hog the shower area, piling their clothes and belonging all over the place, so no one else can easily use the area. They talk and use their cell phones in the yoga studio, disturbing our quiet place. I even politely asked them to stop their talking, which was answered by continued talking and then cell phone use. And then at the end of class, barely a Namaste to be heard.
I understand that a business has to continually bring in new customers. I wish that part of someones introduction would be to have a few rules or common courtesies conveyed to our traveling groupies. We the regulars would like our safe, respectful studio back.
