Woke up to a MAJOR problem ready to break loose and cause me greater personal pain and suffering.This would have also come with a much greater cost structure.Dr Dains moved his calendar around to help me immediately.I was very fortunate at 7am on a Wednesday morning! I’ve always loved the dentists and hygienists their but the office stafff is so difficult. You have to ask multiple times to get anything done. They pass you from person to person and then get upset if you don’t remember who you spoke with. Very challenging to deal with them. Even simple things like making appointments are much more complicated than they should be.

The hygienist is very personable. It was evident that she took note from my last visit about an upcoming visit I had with my Mom to be able to make small talk. While I appreciate the personal reference, it seemed a little forced. Not a fan of the new Dentist that took over this practice. While he seems nice enough, just not warm and genuine like Dr. Murray. Overall, pleased with the services I received (just a routine cleaning) but not sold on the people providing the services.

One (now standard) practice when a patient visits BRD is the formality of signing off on a page (or pages) full of details concerning the current appointment. This is done in a perfectly respectful and courteous manner, but my reaction to it is that the lawyers seem to have convinced BRD that they have to cover all contingencies to protect their interests. Another useful aspect of having the patient do this is that he/she then acknowledges the purpose of the visit, assuming he/she actually reads what he/she is signing off on. There also may be regulations relevant to filing insurance claims that this practice supports.

My point is that the more innocuous purposes of doing the sign-off are not discussed; rather, the patient is faced with what seems to be a legalistic formality that is actually not all that pleasant if one considers the worst case scenarios that the disclaimers seem to address.

Perhaps the answer is simply to explain why the sign-off is necessary (assuming that it is) prior to presenting the patient with the documents.

I was there just to get my teeth cleaned and got more!

The hygienist was super nice and super competent, as well as informative. She confirmed answers to my questions by consulting with one of the dentists who was on staff there and who then came in to talk with me and the hygienist. He confirmed and elucidated even further!

The entire staff are very friendly and extremely helpful! I highly recommend this dental practice for your whole family!
