Lakeside Auto Care has always handled me and my cars fairly and compentantly. This latest service did, however, give me pause. We have a very old car that is clearly on it's last legs, but we've been stretching out its service for our daughter's use. Recently the air conditioning stopped, and expecting that it needed a freon charge, I received a call from the garage confirming the problem. I gave them permission to proceed, and they did very quickly. However, when I received the receipt, entered in a future concerns area was an observation that the engine cradle is so rusted that it was dangerous to drive. Although I very much appreciate the information, I feel that having this information when asking to proceed with the freon charge would have changed my decision to put the money into a dangerous vehicle that needs to be scrapped. Lakeside Auto Care has never historically given me reason to believe they are taking me for a ride, so I am assuming this was a simple oversite in the communication. But it appears that I must now be more careful the next time I take my vehicles in. Don't get me wrong...I still recommend their services, and will use them, but I will make sure that this is an isolated incident, and not the begining of a trend.
