In 1971, Jim Brahler converted an old Marathon station at the corner of 6th and Laurel into a tire center, selling car and small truck tires. He had two employees and three bays to work from. By 1974, he had expanded to large truck tires, retreading and service. He also added three bays to the existing location. Brahler opened his first lube center in 1979. Today, under the direction of Jim's son, Dave Brahler, continues to provide Springfield and its surrounding areas with a full-service tire and automotive center (Brahler Tire Mart, Inc.) and five Valvoline Express Care lube centers (Brahler's Oil & Lube, Inc.). With 40+ years of experience, Brahler is the name to trust for all your automotive needs.
