In 1971, Jim Brahler converted an old Marathon station at the corner of 6th and Laurel into a tire center, selling car and small truck tires. He had two employees and three bays to work from. By 1974, he had expanded to large truck tires, retreading and service. He also added three bays to the existing location. Brahler opened his first lube center in 1979. Today, under the direction of Jim's son, Dave Brahler, continues to provide Springfield and its surrounding areas with a full-service tire and automotive center (Brahler Tire Mart, Inc.) and five Valvoline Express Care lube centers (Brahler's Oil & Lube, Inc.). With 40+ years of experience, Brahler is the name to trust for all your automotive needs. We made a decision recently to eliminate vacuuming and window washing service (but will continue cleaning windshields) after carefully considering the needs and input of customers like you. What we read and hear most often is that their time is precious, and the faster we can provide them with quality services, the happier they are.
When our shops are busy (as they often are) vacuuming and window washing cars can make a difference between customers returning to work on time vs. late, or squeezing in an extra errand during lunch break.
While not an easy decision, we feel the new policy will help us better meet our customers' needs. We greatly appreciate your input!
