We are always concerned when clients have a bad experience at our hospital. It is our goal to provide the best quality diagnostic and veterinary care while creating a good experience for the client. In this case, the patient had been vomiting about 4 hours after the evening meal and dripping urine. The patient was acting normal otherwise. Bloodwork and urinalysis were done and found to be within normal limits. No immediate problems were found. The possibility of a sensitive stomach was discussed. Two injections for nausea were recommended. One of these medications was an injectable form of Pepcid AC (Famotidine). The client was told Pepcid AC could be purchased at HEB to continue this medication for a few days. A prescription diet for sensitive stomach was recommended. The possibility of bladder stones as a cause for the dripping urine was discussed and radiographs could be used to rule out the problem. The client declined all treatments and recommendations. Three days after the exam a courtesy follow up call was made to the client by our doctor to check on her puppy. A message was left. We feel appropriate diagnostics were done and that necessary care was offered.
