VCA Canada C.A.R.E. Centre is a specialty medicine and emergency hospital. Open since March 2006, our 26,000 square foot facility offers a comprehensive range of emergency and referral services to support pet owners and primary care veterinarians.
The C.A.R.E. Centre is much more than an emergency clinic. We are a fully functioning referral hospital, which means we operate much like a human hospital. We do not offer primary veterinary care, other than emergencies, patients must be referred to us through their local veterinarian.
Our board certified specialists and experts provide a wide range of referral services including:
Oncology, Ultrasound, Cardiology, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Neurology, Orthopedic surgery, Dermatology, Soft tissue surgery, Radiology.

I have always liked the service previously. Dr. Campbell did an extraction of my dog’s tooth without letting me know first. Last time she needed extractions the vet called me to discuss with me the reasoning behind the extractions, etc. No explanation, just a $2700+ bill. She was discharged so late that he had left already. A phone call the next day from his assistant! I asked to speak with him! He called to finally explain the extractions, check on her health, etc. I called today to ask questions about the 4 medications she was supposed to be taking and explain that she was not doing well, diarrhea, shaking, etc. NO ONE phone me back. I sent an email and got a response from a remote worker saying he does not work on Fridays. Does any doctor answer calls in his place on Fridays?! What a joke. No one has called me back still. 100% disappointed with Dr Campbell and VCA this time. Will probably seek out a new clinic.

Extremely slow and what your told isn’t what happens on certain things. Would have been nice for the first consult Vet to advise of cost options instead of freaking out about how to pay for costly surgery - which they are really high. Communication for surgery and girl who went over the estimate was amazing.

Amazing team at the VCA C.A.R.E. Centre! We brought our 7.5 Y.O. rescue pup Maisie with a pericardial effusion, after she was stabilized at our regular vet clinic. From the moment we pulled up to emergency, they treated her like the only patient there - even though they were clearly swamped! She was lifted from the car onto a gurnie and, from there, they kept us updated regularly over a nerve-wracking 3.5 hours. When they had her somewhat stabilized, we got to see her bundled up in a crib and even got a tail way out of her. Over the next three days, we received regular updates and were able to schedule visits. She has a likely cancer diagnosis, but we are pursuing the chemotherapy option through their in-house oncology department. We received a generous amount of information and felt comfortable in the options we were provided. If you truly love your pet, put this team on your first stop for any urgent care - and make sure you buy pet insurance, because you can't put a price on family.

The nurses, intake desk, and vets were friendly and gentle with my dog. Wait time wasn’t too long. The lobby and washroom could use a good cleaning. Quite a few messes dried on the floor.
