Glasses were repaired upon receipt of new part: his is part II of my experience with Carolina Eye Care on Merrimon. I had not hurt the glasses,having purposely avoided any attempt to adjust them myself. The young employee who had adjusted them denied any responsibility. Today I went to the retail outlet ready to explain my sincere objection to being held accountable for the repair to get my complaint on the record.

As it turned out, the employee had evidently reported this situation to her supervisor and he, in turn, spoke about the situation to me. In the end I was not made responsible for the repair in any way.

I am, of course, glad for this conclusion. To me this conclusion came from very open consideration and the willingness to accept responsibility for the situation by the young employee and by her supervisor. In the first place, she needed to feel safe in going to him with the problem and then he certainly demonstrated that he stood behind his employee and also understood my position.

I am left with a true respect for each of them.

The ladies at the front desk were exceptional nice. Christa and Dr. Kilgo were fabulous! Dr. Kilgo was very informative on some of my eye problems, she took the time to explain them. She is the first eye doctor to do that in all my years of eye doctors. The office was very comfortable and inviting.

Very caring staff. The doctor went to great lengths to provide me with information. The exam was thorough. I definately believe my vision health is a concern to them. They monitor my insurance coverage and let me know when it is time to keep an appointmpent or purchase eyeware. The selections of frames are vast and current. I am thrilled with my choice of this particular office.

I have had "bad eyes" all my life from childhood to my current "senior citizen" years. My career had taken me to various locales across the decades, where I experienced eye care ranging from "glib dismissive" to "excellent" and luckily was in excellent care in Ohio back in 2006 when I began having virtuous detachments and then retinal detachments leading to surgical insertion of a scleral buckle in one eye. These dramatic eye situations need to be well-monitored the rest of my life.

My first try at "an eye exam in Asheville" at a place south of town had been a disappointing "glib and dismissive" unsatisfactory experience.

Then I met Carolna Eye Care on Merrimon at a Health Fair. My appointment with them, just north of downtown, was completely satisfying and excellent, with good imaging of my retinas, assessments and advice regarding my cataracts, and careful refraction. There was no "hurried assembly-line" sensation (as there had been at the other place south of town that I previously tried). I whole heartedly recommend Carolina Eye Care on Merrimon.
