Going to the dentist can be a hod experience. Angie, hygienist, is very pleasant and helps me take care of my health by providing expert dental care. Dr Chitimas and Dr Fesche have been wonderful. Thanks to the entire team. The ladies at the front desk are efficient and pleasant. I recommend this practice highly.

I am a long time patient of Carroll County Dental Associates. Yesterday, I had an appointment for my semi-annual cleaning/check-up.

I have no complaints about the quality of the service I receive from CCDA. However, I very much dislike the constant upselling of cosmetic treatments. I feel as if I'm taking my car in for an oil change, and the technician is trying to sell me on having unnecessary maintenance done.

Now, this complaint is not directed to the hygienists, but at the dentist herself. It's as if she is trying to feed on your insecurities in order to sell expensive cosmetic options.

For example, I have several veneers. When Dr Fesche was still around, he always complemented me on them and wanted to know where I had them done. Now, I'm being told that I should replace them as the dentist points out tiny imperfections.

Another example is my retainers. I've worn them for 25 years and my teeth are still straight. BUT - they are not the new fancy trays, so the dentist thinks I should replace them. Why ?? What I have has worked for 25 years !!

Dentistry has changed, and not for the better. Now, it's a collection of specialists passing you from one to the other, and a constant pressure to upsell cosmetic treatments.

I plan on speaking to the dentist about this at my next appointment and advise her that the next time I am offered unsolicited offers for cosmetic treatments, they will lose me as a patient.
