I had a very negative experience at Cascade Eye and Skin Centers. I went in to get a perscription for glasses and was unhappy with the service. First of all, I didn't witness anyone wash or sanitize their hands before touching my face or working with me, including the eye doctor. The eye doctor did however, washed his hands after working with me which consisted of a quick rinse. The assistant who dilated my eyes was very unfriendly, impatient, and rough. Before even telling me he was going to dilate my eyes he was already touching my face and tilting my head back. I had to stop him and ask what kind of drug he was administering into my eyes, what was going to happen, and the side effects. He responded (with a mumble) to me briefly with only the name and AFTER he already started dropping it into my eyes (which got all over my eyes because I was still waiting to hear about the drug). Working in the nursing field, I know he administered them improperly and I was frustrated with the care I was receiving, it all seemed rushed, informal, and very unprofessional. I didn't even get a chance to speak up because before I knew it he left! My frustration only enhanced when the eye doctor finally saw me and was more focus on informing his assistant about what he saw versus communicating with me. As I was walking out of the exam room, the receptionist came up to me and grabbed my paper without asking me if I had any further questions. I had to stop her and ask where I can put my contacts back in. She pointed me into a room and well, no wonder nobody was washing their hands! There was no visible sink or hand sanitizer. I left with nobody saying a word to me, there was even a group of assistants who were standing in a circle talking and they just watched me leave without saying or asking anything. Not even a smile! I understand it was a Friday and people are going home but the care of your patients is your main priority.
I will be looking into other clinics and will not be coming back.
The only pro was that because everything was so informal and rushed I was seen quickly and the entire appointment lasted about an hour and a half, the estimate length of time the receptionist told me.
