I had not been to a dentist in 20 years because when I went that last time to have a deep cleaning done, it was such a tramatic experience I did not even go back for a cleaning for 10 years. So the first dental visit with Dr. Lunn was extremely important to me. I actually went to have some teeth pulled & to get partial plate put in(cosmetic reasons omly). He gave me the most thorough dental exam that I have ever had. He spent 2 1/2 hours with me. I told him what I wanted done. He said I needed braces & gave me a referral for that. In the meantime, he looked at my xrays & pictures & said that I needed all my fillings redone (8) because they were leaking into my teeth. I had had these fillings since I was a teenager. I also needed a deep cleaning because I had peridontal gum disease & one extraction. If I had not went, I would not have known about all the other problems that I had. So yearly exams are so important-don't wait even to get your teeth cleaned. They can stop something minor from turning into something major. Anyway, we scheduled an appt to have all that done at once under sedation. I came to his office because he does IV sedation denistry. He understands how fearful & anxiety ridden some people are about having dental procedures done where needles & numbing are involved. He did not try to talk me out of sedation either. He respected my decision, which I respected a great deal. He gave meds for the night before so I could get a good nights sleep & some for the following morning. They worked great. I did not have a care in the world. He sat me in the chair, put a blanket over me, got the IV started I was out. He did 8 fillings, one extraction & a deep cleaning(under the gum line) on all my teeth. He did all that in just 2 hours & 15 minutes. How amazing! I woke up, went home, slept all day, got up for a few hours, then back to sleep for the rest of the night. I remember nothing! That is the whole point of being sedated-no emotional trama. I did not even have to take any of the pain meds that he prescribed for me. I had no pain just soreness. My bite was slightly off, so I went back in the next day & he filed down a couple of teeth to get my bite back to normal & off I went. The staff are all amazing there. Dr. Lunn is knowledgable, kind, positive & easy to talk to. His assistant & receptionist are very sweet & kind & always have a big smile on their face-comforting. I go for a follow up visit on Wed. Then as soon as I am healed, he will give Dr. Pentice the go ahead for my braces. Dr. Lunn does many different procedures there. He also makes mouth splints for people who have TMJD. I will pick mine up on Wed. It will help relax my jaw muscles so I can finally be pain free. Then my braces will be on for 2 years. Then a retainer. The braces will fix the rest of my bite problem by aligning my teeth to the proper positions. So my teeth & jaw will be lined up right after all these years finally. I am 48 years old. I cannot wait to see my final results. It is a long process but worth it. I would recommend everyone to Dr. Lunn's office. I am so happy that I went! They took great care of me! I will definitely be going back.
