I have been going to City Optometry for years. At my last appointment, however, I felt like a number -- not a patient. I was there for over two hours. I saw Dr. Penza for less than ten minutes. We had a lot of trouble trying to figure out what contact prescription would work best for me. Rather than have Dr. Penza ensure I had a good fit, an assistant ran back and forth to talk to Dr. Penza and kept putting different sets of contacts into my eyes. None of them worked. I needed a doctor -- not an assistant who couldn't and wouldn't provide advice -- to give me advice. I asked to see Dr. Penza -- but was told that he was busy with other patients. Additionally, another assistant took dozens of pictures of my optical nerve. Several of them were retaken and I wasn't informed why -- was she making a mistake? Were that many photos required? After all of that, Dr. Penza did not go over the condition of my optical nerves -- even though these tests are billed as very important. After two hours, I had to leave to get back to work and pick up my children. I still don't have a contact lens prescription. I voiced my concerns to the assistants and to the front desk. They nodded politely, but didn't take any action. I then lodged my complaint on the "Contact Us" tab on the website and asked for someone to email me back. No one did. This was more than one week ago. So, after two hours, with only ten minutes from the doctor, I have no contact lens prescription. And no follow-up whatsoever. I'm so disappointed and frustrated.
