I called Crabtree on a Monday morning and was quoted $99 for a Level 1 diagnostic. I was told that they could look at my vehicle for sure Tuesday morning, probably Monday afternoon (same day) if I brought my vehicle in.
I had to place several calls to get status updates. My vehicle wasn't look at until Wednesday and I finally got quotes Wednesday afternoon.
I decided to take my vehicle to get the recommended repairs done elsewhere because of their inability to maintain the expectations they set originally over the phone.
Lastly, communication was average at best. The tech over the phone was piecing together updates and information rather than putting it together before communicating it to me. Not a big deal, but definitely not a smooth experience.
Jake we apologize for the miscommunication, we work hard to make sure our communication is timely and in a professional manner. We had a chance to diagnose your orignial concern with the sunroof on Tuesday and informed you it would be better off taken back to the original installer as it is difficult for us to obtain parts for this particular concern. We apologize we could not get the other concerns that you added after our first diagnosis was done the same day, due to our workload. We did have a chance the following day to look at the lighting concern as well as the coolant leak. Please let us know what we can do to remedy as well as prevent this problem in the future. Was not told they would be closed the day before a holiday. Was told it was a transmission problem, but that they only replace and not rebuild. Their quotes to replace were way overpriced and they did not refer me to a transmission shop. Aamco in Salem quoted me about half of what Crabtree did, and they offered to rebuild it if that's the route I want to go. Have had great experiences with Crabtree before but not this time.

While we wish we could have helped you further with your transmission concern, as it was stated to you over the phone we have not been able to find a reputable transmission rebuilder that is as reliable or carries a better warranty than what we can offer through a professionally rebuilt or ?reman? transmission. We have also found that many problems can arise after a rebuilt transmission is installed that can lead to costly down times for our customers vehicle. I do hope we can help you out in the future for all of your automotive needs and look forward to the chance to help serve you again.
